Riley-isms

On my way to work this morning I was talking to my mom about how many cute things Riley says and how much I will miss her mis-pronunciations when she is all grown up.  I made a short list of all the super cute things that Riley says and I thought I would share some....

So-Si = Sophie

A visit to Toledo

Riley and mommy took our show on the road this weekend and headed up north to visit our best friends, the Kaisers, who live in Toledo.  We had so much fun hanging out with Elise, Kristin and Jeff.  Before we left today, Jeff made some delicious french toast and won us a couple of bouncy balls at BW-3.  What could be better?  We have seen posts on Elise's site showing her riding the "blue dog", so we were excited to have a crack at it - especially since we are so good at riding the zebra.  So, this video is of Riley and Elise taking turns riding the dog.  We can't wait for our next visit with the Kaisers.

taming the zebra

One of my work friends gave us a toy that her kids liked playing with but have outgrown - a bouncy zebra.  After spending some time in the snow, Riley came inside for lunch and then showed us how she is a pro at riding the zebra and making him spin.  "zeba" is one of her new favorite words and she loves the music it makes.  Thanks Beth!

sledding and snow chores

We spent some time outside in the snow today....Riley was trying out the sled that pop-pop and grandma brought down for her while daddy was shoveling the driveway.  It is very cold in Columbus this weekend but the bright sunshine made it bearable.  After Riley took a spin in her sled, she helped daddy shovel snow -- she is always so good about doing her chores!

Potty Potty

Riley's new obsession is the potty.  She says it when she wakes up, when we change her diaper, when we go to bed.  She needs to sit on the potty every day.  Now, nothing ever happens - but man is she interested. Today they even put her on the potty at school.  I don't know if this means its time for potty training, but I can tell you I'm not ready for that stage!  She has a little potty that we bought for her, but that is not as interesting as the real thing.

Andy.....dance, dance!

Andy and Lindsay were really doing well at the Dance Off 2 game!

Riley does a reading

I am really really liking my new video camera, so bear with me  as I post all of these videos!  Riley has started reading with me when we look at books, so I thought I would try to capture one of our readings on video.  At first she is really more into her milk, but she gets into it.  I love to hear her little voice!  And I'm sure you will too.  It is amazing to me that she can remember the words.  She has even started to mimic our bedtime prayer.  Enjoy....

Riley's ABC's

Riley is quite proficient in her alphabet.  Here she is singing her ABC's.  I apologize in advance for the poor singing skills on my part, but she sang them so many times that by the time I got the camera out, she was loosing interest.

Kim and Nathan

Riley made Kim and Nathan some delicious breakfast at her new kitchen and then sent them on their way back to Medina....

Happy New Year!

The Malone's are starting a family blog in 2011.  So, this is our first entry.  We had a fun New Year's Eve. We went to the Columbus Zoo with the Callam's to see the lights and check out the animals. The elephants and tigers were pretty active.  This morning we are waiting for Uncle Nathan and Kim to visit for brunch.  Don't worry, we will be eating our pork and sauerkraut later today.
