monkey business
We started thinking about what the kids could be for Halloween this year. It prompted us to pull out the monkey costume that R wore a couple of years ago. Fortunately it will work for K this year, but of course Ms. R had to try on the costume for old times sake.

Long time friends
The kids and I went to Toledo to visit my very best long time friend, Kristin and her family. It was so great to see my friend and the girls had a great time together as well. Of course, there were some serious dance parties and we were able to spend some time in the pool. Kellen really liked the dogs, but Riley was not a fan. One interesting thing did happen - the kids and I got locked in the bedroom and had to climb out the window to be set free. Kristin has a very old house and the locks are a little tricky, as we found out the hard way. Overall it was a wonderful time with a very dear friend.

First Fair
We took R and K to the Hartford Fair. It was our very first fair experience. R enjoyed her first fair ride (a train) and her first elephant ear (who are we kidding, I ate most of that). She was able to see some animals and played on some antique tractors. Poor K was confined to his stroller - but he was a good sport. Next year he will be able to participate in the eating and playing. I don't know that we are quite ready for the Ohio State Fair - this smaller venue reminded A and me both of county fairs of our youth.

K 11 months
11 months? what? almost 1 year old? can't be! I swear it was just yesterday that this little guy was kicking around in my belly. Our handsome little man is getting more mobile every day. He is standing on his own and really wants to take some steps. While we were on vacation he decided that solid food is good and he has been so adventurous with table food ever since. He feeds himself, even picking up small pieces like rice. Also, he just learned to drink from a straw. K is starting to wave bye-bye and has started to point at things. I love to snuggle up with my little "kells-bells". See you in a month for the big #1 celebration!

An irish weekend
This weekend the Malone clan ventured over to Dublin (ohio) for the Irish Festival. It was fun to walk around and enjoy all of the delicious flavors of Ireland. Who knew Ireland served J. Lui's and City BBQ? ;) We also had a visit from our irish brethren, Brian & Wendy. Doesn't R make such a good irish princess?
