Kellen 8 months

Kellen turned 8 months old today.  He has been army crawling all over the place and he is getting fast!  Kellen is starting to say some babbles - including ba-ba-ba and, Andrew's favorite, da-da-da.  Kellen got 4 more teeth - all across the top.  We also had to move the crib mattress down a notch because we came in and found Kellen up on his knees with this head over the top of the crib.  In addition to moving quickly, he is learning to climb over us and Riley's stool.  The picture at the bottom is Kellen and Ilsa.  The two are the same age, but he is a lot bigger than his friend.

Riley turns Three

Riley had a great time celebrating her third birthday.  On her actual birthday (thursday) we left school a little early and went to the park with our friends.  We worked up quite an appetite and came home to have Cane's with daddy and Kellen.  Riley was the hit of the day at school, bringing cupcakes to class for snack. She wanted to make sure we had left overs so her grandparents would have something to eat when celebrating her big day.  I assured her that we would be getting another cake for her birthday party on Saturday.  Today we had a great celebration.  Grammy and Grandpa Howie made it back from Charleston just in time to party like a three year old.  Grandma and Pop Pop came down, along with Uncle Jordan and G Grandma Farm.  What a house full!  Riley had a delicious  lunch of hot dogs, fruit, pasta salad and chips.  We took a break to open presents and then ate some yummy birthday cake, decorated with My Little Ponies!  Riley got a digital camera and has been taking pictures all afternoon.  She also got a table and chairs that dad will have to build for her.  Thanks for all of the cool gifts.  Riley had the best birthday ever!

Inch worm Kellen

Kellen received an inch worm wind up toy from Grammy and Grandpa Howie for Easter.  Today he was chasing the inchworm with his own "inchworm" moves.  He is getting very quick, as you can see -- faster than the toy.  He is moving a lot these days.

A visit with friends

We were visited by the Bailey's over the weekend.  It was so good to see our friends, we only get to visit a couple of times a year.  Clair, the peanut, is the same size as Kellen....scary!  Andrew cooked out and we had an awesome visit.

Kellen 7 months

Kellen turned 7 months old on Easter day.  He and Riley got all spiffy for the special day and Kellen was full of smiles for all.  Kellen amazes us each day.  Right now he is very ambitious.  He wants something and will pull himself toward that object.  Move the object and he will spin himself around until he locates the object and then moves towards it again.  It is crazy to see him move so much, gone are the days that I put him down and know he will still be there when I come back.  He is also a great sitter - very strong!  He is enjoying his selection of baby foods and cereal.  I guess we will be adding real solids soon.

Easter Weekend

We had a very fun Easter weekend.  On Saturday we went to the New Albany Springfest to participate in the egg hunt with our friends, the Callam's.  Riley also saw a police horse, a school bus and a fire truck.  We were hungry after gathering all of those eggs, so we went to Cane's for some delicious chicken fingers.  After a good nap, Riley colored Easter eggs -- they were a beautiful tie dye.  We left our our baskets and eggs for the easter bunny.  Sunday morning Riley had to find all of the eggs and her basket.  The coolest thing that the Easter bunny brought was this bubble gun.  It shoots out tons of bubbles!  Riley tried it out with Uncle Jordan.  Uncle Jordan, Mike, Uncle Nathan and Kim came to our house for dinner.  It was a great day spent with family.  The weather turned so nice that we went for a family walk after the our guests left.

Kellen's Remote

Kellen is really starting to move.  He can pull himself everywhere and spins in a circle.  He is obsessed with the TV remote (Andrew already has some competition), so this is a short video of Kellen pulling himself to the remote.  I move it and he still finds it.  Smart cookie!
